The Quantum Innovation Centre at A*STAR is seeking a Senior Optomechanical Engineer to join our pioneering team in developing advanced quantum sensors for real world applications.

About the Role:
As a senior optomechanical engineer, you will play a critical role in translating high performance quantum sensing platforms from the laboratory into the field.
You will also provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineering staff and collaborate closely with other engineering teams across disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
·Lead the design of custom optomechanical assemblies and magnetic field coils while satisfying thermal requirements.
·Collaborate with physicists and electronics engineers to package quantum sensors into practical form factors.
·Supervise and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on best practices and technical development.
·Coordinate with cross functional engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and system performance.
·Support the transition of prototypes into deployable, real world systems.
·Document projects progress and provide written reports when required.
Requirements:
·Bachelor, Master or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Optical physics, Applied physics, or a related field
·At least 5 years of relevant industry experience Or a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field.
·Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following areas: custom optomechanical design; optical alignment and tolerance analysis, design of custom magnetic field coils and thermal analysis.
·Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
·Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced R&D environment.
·Excellent communication and leadership skills.
