Job Description
Process Design and Optimization :
Develop, evaluate, and implement chemical processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and sustainability.
Utilize process simulation tools to troubleshoot and optimize production workflows.
Lead initiatives to reduce energy consumption, waste, and production costs.
Management of Change (MOC) :
Oversee and ensure compliance with the MOC system for all process modifications.
Conduct risk assessments and hazard reviews for proposed changes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of changes.
ISO Compliance :
Maintain and enhance processes to meet ISO standards, including ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety).
Participate in audits and drive continuous improvement in compliance with ISO systems.
Project Management :
Plan, lead, and execute engineering projects, ensuring on-time delivery within budget constraints.
Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to achieve project objectives.
Prepare detailed project documentation, including technical drawings, schedules, and reports.
Safety and Compliance :
Ensure all processes comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Lead Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.
Foster a safety-first culture and promote adherence to company safety policies.
Leadership and Mentorship :
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and operational staff.
Lead training initiatives on MOC systems, ISO compliance, and process optimization.
Data Analysis and Reporting :
Monitor production metrics to identify opportunities for process improvements.
Generate detailed reports for stakeholders, summarizing findings, recommendations, and results.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or a related field.
Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 8-10 years in chemical manufacturing or process engineering roles.
Proven expertise in managing large-scale engineering projects and leading process changes.
Familiarity with Management of Change (MOC) systems and ISO standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001).
Proficiency in process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS).
Strong understanding of chemical plant operations, unit processes, and thermodynamics.
Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
Project management experience, SCEM and/or Water Efficiency Manager certified is a plus.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Demonstrated leadership and team-building capabilities.
