JOB DESCRIPTION
- Develop innovative process concepts for offshore substations and new energy systems (e.g., hydrogen, ammonia, carbon capture, alternative fuels).
- Lead pre-FEED and FEED studies for offshore energy transition projects, including technology screening and feasibility analysis.
- Design and optimize process systems using PFDs, UFDs, and P&IDs tailored for offshore substation applications.
- Conduct process simulations and optimization studies using Aspen HYSYS or equivalent tools.
- Prepare heat and material balances to support safe and efficient operation under varying conditions.
- Create process safety documentation, including ESD hierarchies and API 14C-compliant diagrams for offshore installations.
- Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, QRA and other risk and safety studies for offshore facilities.
- Review vendor design documents and perform technical bid evaluations for process and substation-related equipment.
- Develop equipment datasheets, operating procedures, and technical reports aligned with offshore and new energy standards.
- Monitor progress of process design deliverables, ensure schedule adherence, and mentor junior engineers.
- Estimate utility/chemical consumption and prepare load lists in compliance with project and offshore regulatory standards.
- Ensure designs meet relevant offshore and marine standards (IMO, NORSOK, API, UK HSE, USCG) for substations and energy systems.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Process, or a related Engineering discipline.
- 5–7 years of experience in process engineering, with a strong focus on concept development, pre-FEED, and FEED phases.
- Solid experience with New Energies technologies, including hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, alternative fuels, and carbon capture systems — experience in these areas is a strong advantage.
- Demonstrated success in decarbonization projects, with a proven ability to apply innovative process solutions that reduce carbon emissions.
- Proficient in process simulation software, particularly AspenTech HYSYS.
- Strong understanding of offshore and marine industry standards, codes, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with strong communication and client-facing abilities.
- Proven ability to lead and manage complex projects, including mentoring and supporting junior engineers.
- In-depth knowledge of process safety principles and hands-on experience in safety studies such as HAZOP, SIL, and QRA.
