Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Production Manager with a strong background in the plastics or polymer manufacturing industry.
This role will be responsible for overseeing 24/7 high-volume production operations, ensuring manufacturing excellence, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to meet business objectives.
You will lead a team of production operators, and technical support staff, ensuring alignment across departments and delivering products to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations Management
· Oversee end-to-end plastics manufacturing workflows, including molding, extrusion, machining, and assembly.
· Develop and execute production plans that meet customer delivery schedules while optimizing resource use and minimizing downtime.
· Monitor KPIs such as output, yield, scrap rate, and cycle times, and implement actions to address performance gaps.
Team Leadership & Development
· Lead, mentor, and manage production supervisors, technicians, and operators across multiple shifts.
· Build a high-performance team through training, skills development, and succession planning.
· Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Process Optimization & Innovation
· Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other improvement methodologies to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
· Evaluate and integrate new technologies and automation to advance manufacturing capabilities and sustainability goals.
· Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams to support new product introduction and process transfer into production.
Quality & Compliance
· Ensure compliance with relevant quality and industry standards.
· Implement robust quality control processes, including statistical process control and root-cause analysis for defects.
· Maintain a safe and compliant working environment in line with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Cross-Functional Coordination
· Work closely with supply chain, maintenance, process, and quality departments to ensure smooth operations.
· Contribute to strategic planning for capacity expansion, new technology adoption, and operational excellence initiatives.
· Liaise with regional and international teams where necessary.
Job Requirement:
· Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
· Minimum 10 years' production or manufacturing experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Polymer and plastics industry experience preferred.
· Proven track record in plastics, polymers, or composite manufacturing.
· Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
· Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement tools.
· Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
· Proficiency in Mandarin preferred.
