Established in 2010, the Energy Research Institute @ NTU () is a pan-university research institute that focuses on systems-level research for tropical megacities.
It performs translational research that covers the energy value chain from generation to innovative end-use solutions, motivated by industrialisation and deployment.

To deliver the NTU campus sustainability project with the industry collaborator, the project includes 2 main areas:
- Solar panel degradation analysis and identification of root cause of degradation in performance of PV panels.
- Improve performance of PV assets in terms of energy generation during operational cycle and rectify the underperforming assets.
Key Responsibilities:
The candidate scope of work includes 2 main areas of responsibilities, and the candidate is expected to work with research and industry collaborators to deliver the project.
Area A:
- Responsible for regeneration equipment-related activities.
This includes equipment procurement, ownership, license, and maintenance.
- Execution and operation of regeneration activities and perform characterization and analysis for the project.
- Documentation of the results, reports and preparation of quality presentation materials.
Area B:
- Support journal/conference publications when required, meet relevant collaborators.
- Capable of making independent contributions and to meet project deliverables.
- Support researchers both within the team and industry collaborator for delivering the projects and to meet the project deadline.
- Provide training/supervision for the internship students and research/industry collaborators involved in this project.
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field is required; a master's degree is preferred.
- 2 years or more of relevant working experience is advantageous.
- Industrial/lab experience in solar energy/industry is preferred.
- Material characterization experience would be counted as a plus.
- Team player with good communication & interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team as well as independently.
- Able to carry out and summarize literature research and study.
- Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Able to communicate with other researchers (internal and external) and engineers effectively.
