Role Overview:
As a
Senior Data Analyst
in the Risk Control Department, you will be at the forefront of driving data-informed decisions to manage trading risk and optimize client performance monitoring.
This role combines advanced data analytics with in-depth business understanding, focusing on client trade behavior, market risk exposure, and supporting real-time decision-making for the Dealing and Risk teams.
You’ll work across functions to transform complex data into actionable insights that enhance operational and risk management frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor client trading flows and execution in real-time to detect irregular activities or abnormal risk profiles.
Conduct daily analysis of client accounts, margin usage, leverage, and P&L to support operational risk controls.
Develop and maintain comprehensive data reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders (Dealing, Risk, Management).
Design and automate risk monitoring mechanisms, including alerts and triggers based on market or client behavior patterns.
Analyze trading patterns and historical behavior to segment clients and identify emerging risk categories.
Collaborate with Data Engineering to maintain and optimize data pipelines, ensuring reliability and data integrity.
Provide market intelligence, including on-chain data analysis, to highlight potential market risks and opportunities.
Liaise with cross-functional teams (Product, Compliance, Operations) to align business needs with data solutions.
Occasionally communicate with external vendors or liquidity providers to support trading risk data initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Financial Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or Computer Science.
3+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably within trading, brokerage, or financial risk control functions.
Solid understanding of trading products (e.g., FX, CFDs, derivatives) and client trading behavior.
Proficiency in SQL (including complex queries, joins, and performance optimization).
Experience in Python for data processing, statistical analysis, and automation scripting.
Advanced experience with BI tools such as Power BI is a plus.
Strong business acumen with the ability to translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights.
Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese; capable of conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Able to work independently, manage multiple projects, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
