What’s The Role
The primary responsibility of this role is to work as Technical Consultant - Endur to manage the technical delivery of complex projects and programs, bring about industry best practices, and uphold its integrity.
This role requires reviewing the technical delivery of junior resources and coaching/mentoring technical resources.
Endur is the core ETRM software for Shell, managing one of its biggest portfolios, LNG.
The role will navigate a complex team structure with multiple teams, team leads and managers to uphold and influence their processes with industry standards and excellence.
The role is expected to work in predominately the DevOps way of working.
You will work directly with the business to understand issues, fact-find, analyze impacts and dependencies, recommend end-to-end solution design, and implement the solution individually or as part of a team.
You will work in project and/or application support teams in the delivery of projects and may include tasks from every part of the software development lifecycle, including task management, requirements gathering and traceability, prototyping, design and development, testing and release/patching.
The What You’ll Be Doing
The role may also support turn-key/SaaS solutions, which need to work with third-party suppliers to implement change requests, support end-to-end internal and user testing, testing/trials of software patches/upgrades, support deployment, post deployment validation and business acceptance.
Deliveries processes and activities, standards and communications, will be in accordance with the enterprise/team guidelines, tooling, processes and norms (e.g., attending and providing sharing sessions, attending scrum calls, process improvements, etc).
The role is part of and supports a global team.
This role will primarily work with the Shell Energy business, including domestic gas/power marketing businesses in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia, along with the Global LNG (SLMT) business.
Your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
Capture and document user requirements into specifications, from inputs from subject matter experts and Design Authority.
Understand business requirements to pilot and prototype new solutions and technologies, including procurement, setup, development, demonstration and deployment.
Support Projects and Support teams in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including Requirements Gathering, Analysis, Design, Coding, Testing, Implementation, and Production support for software systems.
Determine and design solutions that are scalable and sustainable for a global business.
Establish and maintain stakeholder satisfaction levels.
Build and develop strong trust relationships with the stakeholders demonstrated through clearly owning, resolving and communicating issues and problems.
Contribute/participate in local and global IT community activities.
What You Bring
We are looking for individuals who have:
Minimum 6 years of corporate IT experience
Minimum Education or Certification: 4-year Degree related to IT
Experience with software development using MSFT C#, Python, and ASP.Net.
Experience with software development using Java.
Crystal Reports development experience.
Openlink Endur (v19+) development experience
Familiar with Microsoft Azure DevOps tools (such as VSTS and GIT)
Familiar with Software Engineering processes (such as Configuration Management, Change Management, Release Management, etc)
Knowledge in specific areas of Energy Trading and prior experience with Energy Trading systems development; development life cycle and support of applications
Understanding of mature software design/architectures, software quality management and coding standards
Independent working in a highly competitive environment with other team members and business stakeholders, flexibility and understanding
