We are looking for a subject matter expert in factory automation to drive innovation through the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of factory automation solutions across new and existing applications.
Overview
In this role you will act as the subject matter expert for factory automation, addressing design, development, implementation, and maintenance of FA solutions within the production landscape.
Responsibilities
- Be the subject matter expert of factory automation, covering design, development, implementation and maintenance of Factory Automation solutions across new and existing applications.
- Understand factory automation systems architecture and cover the platform, network and infrastructure (servers, databases, middleware) on which applications sit.
- Ensure solution integration within the production applications landscape across various layers integrated with the Factory Automation solution.
- Proactively solve problems in factory automation, monitor trends in manufacturing, collaborate on innovative ideas, investigate new ideas, consider alternatives, and drive active risk management.
- Address higher-complexity problems involving expert networks; provide analysis, hypothesis, conclusions, lessons learned, and share knowledge with junior members and vendors.
- Build technical competence within the domain and contribute to the team’s overall capability in high automation.
- Drive technical and architectural decisions within the Functional Area and execute implementation, including active knowledge transfer and best-practice sharing across organizational boundaries; help build a community that guides junior members in solution principles.
Qualifications
- Relevant vocational training (3+ years) and a particularly extensive subject-specific additional qualification.
- Working experience in system architecture/design/integration within the manufacturing/production domain.
- Experience building technical competence and extending capabilities within a team, not just individually.
- Experience leading development of guidelines and principles in architecture or solutions.
- Completed study of 4 years with subject-specific qualification, or relevant study in mechanical, mechatronics, or computer fields (or equivalent experience).
- Technical skills include factory automation across various software platforms, middleware, C#, equipment software, Oracle, and Windows services (plus).
- 7+ years of relevant work experience, preferably with leadership of a technical team of at least 2 members.
