What the role is
MPA's Maritime Decarbonisation Division formulates Singapore's maritime decarbonisation strategy and drives MPA's sustainability initiatives.
We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking candidate to lead the adoption of emerging and alternative maritime fuels, drive Maritime Singapore's energy and infrastructure transition, and shape international partnerships to safeguard Singapore's interests in the global maritime sector.
You will be a part of a strategic, dynamic team to formulate maritime decarbonisation strategies and work with stakeholders including research institutes, government agencies, and industry to drive partnerships and develop technical studies and projects to advance Maritime Singapore's decarbonisation goals.
Key responsibilities:
Develop decarbonisation pathways and master planning of infrastructure required to enable the energy transition of Maritime Singapore.
Lead technical and economic feasibility studies in collaboration with partner agencies and research institutes to assess emerging decarbonisation pathways and inform MPA's strategy and policy.
Work with stakeholders within MPA, across government, industry and academia to address barriers to the adoption of decarbonisation solutions.
This includes infrastructure planning, accelerating adoption of electrification solutions, development, review and implementation of funding mechanisms and incentives, regulations and policies.
Partner with MPA Divisions in implementing sustainability strategies and initiatives in support of Maritime Singapore's Decarbonisation Blueprint 2050.
Administer schemes to build Maritime Singapore's capabilities in decarbonisation and energy efficiency.
This includes evaluating application, developing and maintaining processes/frameworks to ensure alignment with program goals, compliance with scheme and governance requirements.

About Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) was established on 2 February 1996, with the mission to develop Singapore as a premier global hub port and international maritime centre (IMC), and to advance and safeguard Singapore's strategic maritime interests.
MPA is the driving force behind Singapore's port and maritime development, taking on the roles of Port Authority, Port Regulator, Port Planner, IMC Champion, and National Maritime Representative.
MPA partners the industry and other agencies to enhance safety, security and environmental protection in our port waters, facilitate port operations and growth, expand the cluster of maritime ancillary services, and promote maritime R&D and manpower development.
