Job Overview
Tender managers are responsible for the entire tender process from pre-tender to submission.
Their goal is to ensure that all tender requirements are met, and the company presents a strong case for winning the contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse and clarify Request for Quotations (RFQs) or opportunities during the pre-tender and tender phase and raise queries or amendments in order to influence clients or consultants if possible.
- Prepare Risk Management check lists to present to local and Japan management for decisions.
- Attend site show rounds to understand the scope of work and prepare Meeting Minutes (MOM) for Tender scope.
- Lead and organize single or multi systems like mechanical, electrical and Electronic Locking System (ELV) tender preparation, reviews and submission to ensure completeness, quality, technical and risk compliance, and on time tender submission.
- Consolidate and analyse technical, bill of quantities, price schedules, cost/quotes, financial data and commercial contract to ensure technical compliance, risks mitigation and competitiveness during tender preparation and clarification phase.
- Arrange project involvement during Tender stage and manpower planning with project to come up with project organization chart and preliminary cost.
- Enhance and consolidate quotes to reach target win price while avoiding rejection and margin slippage and prepare Tender cost summary for management approval for tender profit margin.
- Prepare tender interview presentation to support management during tender clarification/negotiation phase in order to win tender.
- Lead and organize tender reviews and meetings to ensure completeness and quality handover to project management team.
- Prepare Weekly Tender Report to submit to Japan.
- Perform any other related duties assigned to support management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in tender management role (construction industry – electrical for building).
- Knowledge in HT LV, ELV systems, and ACMV/Fire systems is an advantage.
