Senior/Accounts Executive
XCL World Academy is seeking a professional Senior/Accounts Executive to support the accounts department, maintain accurate records and reconcile all accounts to ensure compliance with internal and external audit processes.
Responsibilities
Ensure invoicing is on time and accurate for all fees of the school as per invoicing timeline and student contract.
Issue receipts for fees collected via cash, bank transfer or cheque and deposit the fees collected.
Perform weekly bank reconciliation.
Manage student information, late joiners, posting of concessions, charging of other fee charges and maintain master file for student invoices.
Analyse revenue and cost for other incomes at month‐end and review concession postings.
Apply FRS 115 revenue recognition standards and harmonise income recognition with the standards.
Analyse month‐end revenue entries, identifying any discrepancies.
Reconcile student numbers with class lists weekly and update student concessions.
Assist in compliance with CPE Requirements for fee refunds and other information.
Monitor and collect receivables by contacting parents or companies via telephone, email and mail.
Maintain accounts receivable records, ensuring aging is up to date and uncollectible amounts are accounted for.
Identify outstanding fees before they become overdue and suggest corrective action.
Document collections progress, recording information from first contact to latest outreach.
Monthly/Yearly Responsibilities
Process overseas or local suppliers’ vendor bills/payment and prepare journal entries for accruals and other adjustments.
Prepare and submit monthly XCL HQ reports.
Maintain schedule for P&L and balance sheet GL accounts as part of month‐end process.
Assist with GL month‐end closing journals and ensure accuracy.
Prepare GST file.
Support corporate tax and withholding tax filing.
Assist in internal and statutory year‐end audits.
Initiate effort and energy beyond the typical workday where tasks require additional commitment.
Support line manager in year‐end budget and other ad‐hoc activities.
Perform other duties as requested by direct and dotted reporting line managers or supervisors.
Help implement or improve any processes and procedures.
Qualifications
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in finance or related field.
Technical skills for data entry and participation in weekly meetings.
Understanding of latest changes in FRS 115 and Singapore tax rules and their implications for the company.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, pivot, VLOOKUP, SUM and formatting summary reports.
Experience with Phoenix Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle NetSuite and NetSuite Accounting software is an advantage.
Experience with ISAMS, Managebac and Open Apply is an advantage.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Strong character and integrity with the ability to work independently and in team, excellent time management and attention to detail.
Positive mindset and excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with other departments regularly.
Availability for late sitting whenever required to complete time‐sensitive tasks.
