Job description:
Job Purpose
The Manager / Senior Manager, Rolling Stock Engineering, is to provide leadership and management to his team.
The team is expected to provide engineering solutions to reliability problems affecting SMRT Trains, Engineering Trains and Plant Equipment.
He will be required to coach and guide the team in defect troubleshooting, failure analysis, reliability trending, and develop engineering solutions to the problems identified; ensuring that each system and sub-system is performing within the defined reliability targets.
He will also have to collaborate with other internal and external stakeholders on engineering and maintenance efforts and ensure high system reliability and availability.
Responsibilities
Qualifications & Work Experience
Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics Engineering or equivalent from a recognised institution, with at least 5 years' working experience in managerial positions in a maintenance organisation.
Previous Railway System experience would be advantageous.
Skills
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable to work hands-on in a maintenance workshops environment alongside other Engineers, Assistant Engineers and Technical Officers.
Must also be able to work in different shift timings, when required.
Adept with diagnostics and reliability engineering methods such as FMECA, Fault Tree analysis, Weibull analysis and Damage Tolerance Analysis, etc.
Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
Able to work independently and as a team effectively adjusting oneself flexibly to different work situations.
Effective organizational and planning skills.
Fluent in written and oral communication skills in English.
