SSD Tester Applications Engineer
As a Tester Applications Engineer within the Systems Integration Group (SIG) at Micron Technology, you will play a critical role in the development and support of the internal test equipment that enables Micron’s SSD technology and manufacturing.
Your primary focus will be to develop SSD test solutions and provide tester applications support for test and product engineering teams.
Your responsibilities will also include ensuring the successful utilization of SIG’s equipment in Micron’s manufacturing and engineering applications through collaboration with teams worldwide.

Responsibilities
Provide Tester Applications Support for SSD Engineering and Manufacturing
Be the subject matter expert on tester APIs and assist engineering teams in the development and qualification of first of a kind test programs and capabilityCollaborate closely with equipment and test engineering teams to resolve tester related issues.Analyze and verify tester issues to enable clear communication of problem statement back to the equipment design teams.Validate new tester software and hardware to ensure release readinessWork with manufacturing sites and key functional groups on the integration and qualification of internal testers.Provide the processes and tools vital to enable sites to accurately maintain and debug their internal tester fleet.Provide timely support for manufacturing and engineering tester issues, including the communicating and prioritizing of issues back to equipment design teams.Develop Tester Equipment and Supporting Hardware, Software and Processes
Support internal test equipment development and deployment through collaboration with key stakeholders.Collaborate with SIG engineering teams on tester hardware and software design.Develop interface libraries that enable test programs and automation to interface with tester system software.Design the application specific hardware, software and processes required for the tester to perform to specifications in the appropriate manufacturing and/or engineering application.Analyze Tester Requirements and Capabilities
Perform continuous gap analysis between existing tester capabilities and product roadmaps to identify areas where new tester development may be required.Conduct controlled evaluations and design experiments to understand tester capabilities.Work with functional groups locally and/or globally to establish and refine new tester requirements and specifications.Represent SSD test requirements in the defining of new tester specifications.Communicate and Mentor
Actively share technical information to raise the level of awareness and knowledge in the area, department, site, or larger industry groups.Accurately store and share tester documentation and information such that it is available globally.Support the development and training of test equipment users.Qualifications
Education
Bachelors Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science or related field of engineering studyExperience
At least 5 years’ experience in one of the following:Engineering role with HDD/SSD test or validation experience.Engineering role with test equipment development or support related experience.Skills
Expertise with PCIe/NVEe protocols and related debugging (CXL is a plus).Experience with SSD/HDD testing or validation, including test hardware, programs, processes, and methodologies.Very good C/C++ and python programming skills and experience.Knowledge of SSD test equipment (Advantest MPT3000 experience is a plus).Very good problem-solving skills and techniques.Working knowledge of protocol/logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.An ability to effectively communicate and understand technical information.High degree of self-initiative with an ability to think and act independently.Effective communication and teamwork skills.
