Perform basic care and maintenance
A service advisor's job scope typically includes the following responsibilities:
Customer Interaction:
- Greet customers and listen to their concerns about their vehicles.
- Schedule service appointments and communicate with customers about their service needs.
Service Coordination:
- Coordinate with the service technicians to ensure the timely completion of vehicle repairs and maintenance.
- Keep customers updated on the status of their vehicles and any changes in the repair schedule.
Cost Estimates:
- Provide customers with detailed estimates of repair costs and time required.
- Explain the necessity of repairs and the associated costs to customers.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of customer information, vehicle details, and service history.
- Prepare service orders and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed.
Quality Control:
- Ensure that all services performed meet the company's quality standards.
- Conduct post-service follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction.
Problem Resolution:
- Address and resolve customer complaints and issues promptly and professionally.
- Liaise between customers and service technicians to ensure clear communication and satisfactory resolution of issues.
Inventory Management:
- Check stock levels of parts and supplies necessary for vehicle repairs and maintenance.
- Coordinate with the parts department to ensure the availability of necessary parts.
- Place orders for out-of-stock items and ensure timely delivery to avoid service delays.
Other Duties:
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager.
