Position Overview
The Service Engineer will provide the best and timely services to customers, ensuring a seamless service experience with a strong focus on customer orientation.
The role involves installation, commissioning, user training, troubleshooting, repair, calibration & maintenance services for ZwickRoell products.
Working independently, the engineer will utilize technical expertise and problem-solving skills to deliver effective solutions that maximize customer satisfaction and build long-term trust.
Job Responsibilities
Maintenance & Calibration
- Carry out regular preventive maintenance of ZwickRoell machines and instruments,
- Perform onsite calibration of load, extension, Xflow, and impact testing machines
- Prepare and deliver calibration certificates accurately and on time to calibration laboratory.
Installation, Commissioning & Training
- Perform onsite installation, commissioning, and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) of ZwickRoell instruments.
- Provide user training on proper usage and handling of ZwickRoell instruments.
Troubleshooting Support
- Diagnose and resolve faults in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components of machines and instruments.
- Determine scope and nature of faults/damages in consultation with inhouse technical support team and advise customers on appropriate corrective actions including necessary spares, consumables, and accessories required for smooth machine operation.
Documentation & Reporting
- Submit timely and accurate service reports, checklists, and installation/calibration documentation for further processing.
- Site survey visits report for new machine delivery & erection
- Fully utilize CRM system to actively document customer cases
Planning & Coordination
- Plan and execute prompt customer visits in consultation with Service Coordinator.
- Coordinate with internal teams for smooth execution of service activities
Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Regional Service Manager.
Education
- Diploma / Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical / Automation / Mechatronics)
Experience
- Min 2 years of experience in material testing machines and instruments.
- Working experience in measurement and analytical instruments or materials testing is preferred
Requirements
- Knowledge of materials testing & properties of materials
- Basic knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics and pneumatics
- Experience in customer support activity of materials testing machines
- Proficiency with software
- Good communication skills
- Goal-oriented and has a flexible approach to work under pressure.
- Willing to undergo continuous re-training
- Proficiency in English & an Asian language (Mandarin, Korean etc.)
- 70% travel requirement
