ServiceNow App Engine Lead
(Packaged/SaaS Application Engineer | 1-Year Contract)
Location: Pasir Panjang (Maple Tree) OR Buona Vista
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Salary: Up to $11,500/month - depending on experience
About the Role
We are hiring a highly skilled ServiceNow Developer with strong expertise in App Engine development and solution leadership.
You will lead end-to-end delivery of complex ServiceNow applications while providing technical guidance to junior developers and collaborating with cross-functional squads.
This role blends hands-on development, mentorship, and architecture involvement within a fast-paced Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of custom applications using ServiceNow App Engine
Develop complex workflows, integrations, and platform configurations
Guide and mentor junior developers on best practices and standards
Establish and enforce coding guidelines for the development team
Conduct code reviews and ensure quality and compliance
Troubleshoot complex technical challenges and lead resolution efforts
Prepare technical documentation and reusable knowledge assets
Participate in architecture reviews and solutioning sessions
Required Qualification
7+ years of ServiceNow development & implementation experience
3+ years of hands-on App Engine development
Current ServiceNow certifications (e.g. CAD, CIS)
Experience in at least 2 large-scale ServiceNow implementations
Strong JavaScript and platform scripting capabilities
Proven leadership or mentorship experience in delivery teams
Technical Skills
Hands-on proficiency in:
ServiceNow App Engine Studio & Templates
JavaScript-based platform scripting
Business Rules, UI Policies, UI Actions, Client Scripts
Workflows & Flow Designer
Integration Hub & Service Portal
REST/SOAP integrations and APIs
Source control & deployment tools
Leadership & Delivery Skills
Mentoring and guiding junior developers
Conducting training and technical reviews
Translating technical concepts for business teams
Estimating development effort and leading deliverables
Additional Requirements
Strong Agile/Scrum delivery experience
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset
Ability to work autonomously and in squad-based teams
Experience preparing technical documentation
Preferred Experience
Exposure to multiple ServiceNow upgrades/releases
ITIL processes and governance understanding
Performance tuning and platform optimisation
Implementation of ServiceNow best practices
