RESPONSIBILITIES
Analysis of samples in order to support the operations staff to run the process by
Setting up and operating laboratory equipment and instruments as outlined in current instructionsPerforming tests according to the Analysis Plan in order to monitor the production process on samples from the production and record test resultsCommunicating results to the relevant Operations personnelPreparing reagents and standards needed for analysisEnsuring sufficient laboratory inventories such as Chemicals and Consumables for operationInvolving in job safety risk activities and adhere to safe practices in the laboratoryPerforming routine/non-routine housekeeping jobs as required to keep the area clean and safeCovering duties in laboratory stream as assignedMaintain the lab equipment and quality system
Calibration, verification, and preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment as outlined in current work instructionMaintaining laboratory equipment to ensure proper working condition and troubleshoot malfunctions when neededUpdating existing work instructions, analytical instructions and laboratory records as requiredUpkeeping laboratory records and maintaining the Quality file
REQUIREMENTS
Education, Certification or relevant experience required:
ITE/ Diploma in Chemistry or equivalentFresh grad or minimum 1 year experience in an analytical laboratory environment in the chemical industryWilling to work in Jurong Island and perform 12 hours rotating shift (company Transport Provided)Additional skills and abilities required for this position:
Fluent in spoken and written EnglishTeam playerAttention to details with accurate data recording skillsKnowledge or experience in handling typical laboratory instruments like titrators and chromatographic instrumentsList machines, tools, equipment, and others used in the performance of the duties.
Lab equipment such as GC, HPLC, Automatic Titrators, AAS, UV Spectrometer, Glass oven, Rotary evaporator, Density meter, X-ray, TOC analyzer, TGA analyzer etc.
