- The Shipowner Representative (Assistant Manager) will serve as a key liaison between shipowners and ship management teams to ensure smooth communication and effective collaboration.
- Responsibilities will include overseeing operations, addressing concerns of shipowners, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- Monitor the performance of vessels, providing regular reports on operational efficiency, technical and crew performance, and maintenance status.
- Assist in negotiating contracts and agreements between shipowners and service providers.
- Organize and participate in meetings with shipowners to discuss operational issues and performance improvements.
- Provide support in the management of budgets and financial forecasts related to ship operations.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and best practices while promoting a culture of safety among crews.
- Identify and implement strategies for operational improvements and cost efficiencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the maritime industry, with a focus on ship management or operations.
- Strong understanding of maritime regulations and practices.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with a proven ability to build relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software tools.
- Previous experience as a Shipowner Representative is a significant advantage.
