Job Description
- Industry/ Organization Type: Container Trucking Service Provider
- Position Title: Shipping Assistant
- Working Location: Central (Nearest MRT: Little India)
- Working Hours: 5 days (Monday to Friday: 9 am-6 pm)
- Salary Package: Up to SGD 2700 + AWS + Variable Bonus
- Duration: Permanent
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all import/export documentation for sea and air freight, including the preparation of required shipping paperwork
- Prepare invoices, permits, and arrange cargo insurance as needed
- Liaise with clients for certificate applications and related documentation
- Coordinate with shipping lines and freight forwarders to arrange container transshipments and confirm vessel schedules for barge connections
- Submit Bill of Lading drafts to shipping lines or freight forwarders and print original Bills of Lading via online platforms
- Apply for and process various permits using Tradeweb and handle back-to-back Certificate of Origin applications
- Submit complete documentation packages to banks for DIP, D/A, and L/C transactions.
- Scan and file documents into the in-house server system
- Prepare local delivery documents and liaise with clients to coordinate delivery arrangements.
- Coordinate with the warehouse on goods collection and delivery logistics
- Monitor shipping line nominations for transshipment containers and update import container records in the in-house system
- Coordinate with transporters for LCL clearances from ports to clients’ warehouses and assign transportation jobs as needed
- Provide support for any other ad hoc assignments as required
Qualifications
- Min.
O level - Min.
1 year of working experience in shipping documentation - Experience in import/export documentation or Tradenet/Tradeweb for permit processing is a plus
- Training provided to inexperienced candidate
