Job Purpose
The Site Engineer supports day-to-day site operations, ensuring that construction works are carried out in accordance with specifications, safety standards, and timelines.
The role bridges communication between the site and office teams, ensuring technical compliance and site efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Supervision & Coordination
- Supervise and monitor on-site construction activities.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
Ensure compliance with construction drawings, specifications, and safety regulations.
Technical Support
- Interpret construction drawings and resolve technical issues on-site.
- Ensure accurate setting out of works as per approved plans.
Assist in preparing method statements and work procedures.
Quality & Safety Compliance
- Conduct routine inspections and quality checks.
- Report and rectify non-conformities and safety hazards.
Ensure work is performed according to QA/QC standards.
Progress Monitoring & Reporting
- Track and document construction progress.
- Submit daily/weekly site reports, including manpower, material usage, and equipment logs.
Raise potential issues that may impact schedule or quality.
Liaison & Documentation
- Communicate effectively with consultants, clients, and relevant authorities.
- Maintain proper site records, including site diaries, inspection reports, and material submissions.
- Support preparation of progress claims and variation orders if required.
Key Requirements
Education: Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management or related discipline.
Experience: more than 5 years of relevant experience in building or infrastructure projects
Skills:
- Strong understanding of construction methods and site operations.
- Able to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Knowledge of local building codes and safety regulations.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
