Software Engineer (Intelligence Analysis Applications Development)
The Information Programme Centre at DSTA develops cutting-edge software solutions to harness information that empower the SAF to fight smarter and faster on the battlefield.
We are seeking motivated and innovative individuals to join our team in developing data-driven applications in the military intelligence domain.
As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for building advanced image and signals analysis applications that provide early warning and real-time threat detection.
Key Responsibilities: 
Solution Design: 
Translate complex use cases into robust solution designs and detailed technical specifications.
Application Development: 
Develop and optimise applications for advanced image and signals analysis.
Continuous Improvement: 
Enhance and evolve software applications to provide a seamless user experience and support in achieving mission-critical objectives.
Collaboration: 
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including those from infrastructure and cybersecurity, to ensure successful project delivery.
Job Requirements 
Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field such as Electrical Engineering.
Proficiency in software engineering with experience in Java, C++, or other object-oriented languages.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a team-oriented mindset.
Preferred Technical Skills 
Proficiency in GIT source code management.
Expertise in software design principles, including code modularity and maintainability.
Experience in one or more of the following: 
Scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell)
Containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker)
Stream processing technologies (e.g., Kafka)
Geospatial technologies (e.g., Luciad and ESRI)
Applied Machine Learning for Computer Vision and/or Signal Processing 
As a Software Engineer for Intelligence Analysis applications, you will have the creative freedom and technical autonomy to develop technologies that address real-world challenges.
