About the Role
As a Graduate Software Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to kickstart your career while helping shape the future of global finance — all on one platform.

You’ll work with world-class engineers, apply best practices, and develop strong software engineering fundamentals that scale globally.


You’ll partner with our engineering teams to drive a high-performance, data-driven culture, working on high-priority areas that ensure operational excellence as we continue to grow worldwide.


We are looking for talented, curious and determined individuals to join us full time starting in July /August 2026.


Responsibilities:
Work with a wide range of systems and diverse teams to deliver a solid foundation for our global payment infrastructure
Partner with engineering teams across Airwallex’s global offices to deliver impactful solutions at scale
Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and scalable systems that power seamless payment experiences worldwide
Tackle and resolve complex production issues across multiple layers of the stack to ensure reliability and performance
Own and optimise critical components of Airwallex’s online payment processing flow, driving real impact for our users
Requirements
Graduated in 2025 or graduating in 2026 with a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Able to commence full-time employment in July /August 2026
Proficiency in at least one programming language, with the ability to write clean, high-quality, maintainable code.


Strong software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.


Committed to engineering excellence — holding yourself and others to high standards in security, scalability, and design.


Thrive in collaborative, cross-functional environments and enjoy working with stakeholders across the business.


Preferred Skills and Experience:
Hands-on experience with Kotlin, Java, Python, or JavaScript.


Familiarity with Spring, Spring Boot, or React frameworks.


Understanding of GraphQL specifications.


Knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL, Redis, or NoSQL systems.


Experience with messaging systems such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.


Exposure to cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS.
