About the Role
We’re looking for a
Software Engineer / Senior Software Engineer
who enjoys building robust, high-impact systems end-to-end — from design and implementation to deployment and iteration.

You’ll work closely with product managers, designers, and agency partners to craft resilient systems that
frontline officers depend on every day .

This role is ideal for engineers who value
technical depth, product thinking, and mission-driven impact .

What You’ll Do
Build and ship full-stack features
— from frontend components to backend services and data pipelines.

Design for reliability and scale
— ensuring systems remain robust under real-world operational constraints.

Collaborate across disciplines
— working with designers, PMs, and agency users to translate needs into pragmatic solutions.

Continuously improve developer experience
— enhancing tooling, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and documentation.

Contribute to technical direction
— shaping architecture and best practices through your craft and judgement.

Prototype and iterate quickly
— test hypotheses, validate user value, and refine features based on feedback.

TypeScript, React, Node.js / Next.js
PostgreSQL and REST APIs
Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Pulumi) and modern DevOps tooling
Optional: LLMs, embeddings, and retrieval pipelines (for those keen on AI integrations)
You Might Be a Good Fit If You:
Have strong proficiency in
TypeScript, React, and backend development
(Node.js or similar).

Understand how to design maintainable APIs, data models, and frontend architectures.

Care deeply about
users , especially non-technical ones who rely on your systems in critical environments.

Are comfortable taking ownership from problem discovery to production.

Communicate clearly and enjoy collaborating across functions.

ParkingSG — A mobile app alternative to parking coupons.

It lets users pay, extend, and refund their parking sessions just using their phones.

RedeemSG — Helps the Singapore Government to create, send and track digital vouchers easily.

COVID‐19 Vaccination — A suite of systems built to enable Singapore's national vaccination campaign for COVID‐19.

This includes informational sites, appointment booking systems, and records management systems.

data.gov.sg — An open repository of all the Singapore Government's public data.

It helps people understand the data using visualizations and articles, and provides real‐time APIs for developers to use.

Isomer — Provides government agencies with an easy‐to‐deploy static website building and hosting service to create usable, secure and faster informational websites quickly.

FormSG — A form builder tool for agencies to self‐service and create online forms that capture classified data, with the goal of replacing paper forms.

PaySG — Was developed to enable digital payments for government services, and was initially used for payments for COVID‐19 swab tests and Stay‐Home Notices for incoming travellers to Singapore.
