About the Role

As a Graduate Software Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to kickstart your career while helping shape the future of global finance — all on one platform.

You’ll work with world-class engineers, apply best practices, and develop strong software engineering fundamentals that scale globally.

You’ll partner with our engineering teams to drive a high-performance, data-driven culture, working on high-priority areas that ensure operational excellence as we continue to grow worldwide.

We are looking for talented, curious and determined individuals to join us full time starting in July /August 2026.

Responsibilities:

• Work with a wide range of systems and diverse teams to deliver a solid foundation for our global payment infrastructure
• Partner with engineering teams across Airwallex’s global offices to deliver impactful solutions at scale
• Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and scalable systems that power seamless payment experiences worldwide
• Tackle and resolve complex production issues across multiple layers of the stack to ensure reliability and performance
• Own and optimise critical components of Airwallex’s online payment processing flow, driving real impact for our users

Requirements

• Graduated in 2025 or graduating in 2026 with a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Able to commence full-time employment in July /August 2026
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, with the ability to write clean, high-quality, maintainable code.
  
  
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.
  
  
• Committed to engineering excellence — holding yourself and others to high standards in security, scalability, and design.
  
  
• Thrive in collaborative, cross-functional environments and enjoy working with stakeholders across the business.
  
  

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Hands-on experience with Kotlin, Java, Python, or JavaScript.
  
  
• Familiarity with Spring, Spring Boot, or React frameworks.
  
  
• Understanding of GraphQL specifications.
  
  
• Knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL, Redis, or NoSQL systems.
  
  
• Experience with messaging systems such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
  
  
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS.
