SOFTWARE MANAGER
About the Position
We are looking for a dynamic and hands-on Software Manager to lead a team of software developers and engineers in delivering innovative, secure, and scalable solutions.
This role involves assigning tasks, setting priorities, managing deadlines, and ensuring adherence to best practices in software development, coding standards, and design decisions.
You will work closely with business stakeholders to translate needs into technical solutions, provide architecture and solution design, and lead discussions on functional and technical requirements.
In addition, you will evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and frameworks that meet business goals while ensuring cost-efficiency and working within budget constraints.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in communication protocols, GUI, database, and web-based applications across Windows and UNIX platforms, with a strong grasp of OS, networking, and the full software development lifecycle.
This is a leadership position that demands technical vision, strategic thinking, and the ability to deliver high-quality, business-aligned software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
To manage and lead a team of software developers and engineers
Assigning tasks, setting priorities, and managing project deadlines
To ensure the team follows best practices for software development, coding issues and design decisions
Ensure that the overall solution is scalable, secure, and easy to maintain
To work with business department to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions
Provide solution design and architecture
To lead discussions on functional and technical requirements and ensure the proposed solutions are appropriate for the organization’s needs
Evaluating and recommending new technologies, tools, and frameworks to meet business and technical requirements
Provide cost-efficiency of proposed solutions and working within budget constraints
To plan and co-ordinate amongst clients, consultants and all other external and internal divisional parties for smooth implementation, delivery, and hand-over of projects
Qualifications
Minimally Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science or Electrical/Electronic Engineering or relevant field
Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience in a software project-oriented environment
Technical Skills
Hands-on experience in development of communication protocol, GUI, database and web-based application on Windows and UNIX platform
Experience of Microcontroller RTOS development
In-depth knowledge of OS and Networking
Detailed knowledge of software development cycle management
Additional Skills
Have a good grasp of issues encountered in different levels of system software
Translate business requirements into technical solutions
Drive innovation in software development methodologies and solution architectures
