Overview

Position: Specialist Associate (Technical Support) Comparative Medicine, Research Facility at National University of Singapore .

Location: Kent Ridge Campus.

Department: Operations.

Organization: Comparative Medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Daily monitoring of the animal life support system and preventive maintenance and repair to the facility and equipment, which includes, but is not limited to:
  • An automatic watering system for the animal
  • The central gas supply system
  • Lighting management system
  • Cage and tunnel washer
  • Bulk and tabletop autoclave
  • Building air-con and building management system
  • Card access system

Other General Duties Include:

  • Housekeeping and cleaning duties
  • Stocking and maintaining the inventory of personal protective equipment supplies
  • Records keeping operating equipment, including cage and rack washers and autoclaves
  • Performing related duties required for the support of the laboratory animals

You will also be expected to assist the operation staff when necessary and undertake other duties as assigned.

New assignments are accompanied by detailed instructions, and completed work is checked for accuracy and compliance with established regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma in mechanical or electrical discipline or 3 years equivalent experience in mechanical or electrical or electronic engineering related to the animal facility.

  • Ability to multitask
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to work independently and in team settings
  • Lift to 15kg
  • Basic knowledge of MS Outlook
  • Possessing a valid class 3 driving license will be an added advantage
