About The Team

You would be joining the Services Delivery team as part of a global organization, delivering cutting-edge Day-one IT Virtualization Consulting Services.

The team focuses on providing value that exceeds customer expectations and aims to shorten the return on investment for Nutanix’s clients.

You will work with a talented team that collaborates closely to achieve common goals.

You will report to the Services Delivery Leader and work in a hybrid Services delivery model, where you are encouraged to be in the office 3 days per week when not at a customer site.

The role may require 20-40% travel, including visits to domestic client sites, with exciting opportunities to travel overseas for internal team events or training sessions.

Your Role

The Nutanix Services and Customer Solutions team influences the success of each Nutanix implementation by engaging with customers in pre-sales and post-sales stages, assisting with their software-defined data center (SDDC) strategy and architecture.

The Services team works with our partners to ensure customer success in fully implementing their virtualized and software-defined data centers.

The Services Consulting function includes assessment, design, implementation, integration, automation services, and project management.

The Staff Consulting Architect will work within the Services team to create service offerings that enable customers to deploy automation and orchestration solutions across multiple cloud endpoints (e.g., Nutanix, AWS, Azure, GCP) with Nutanix Cloud Management (NCM).

You will work with internal teams or solutions partners to create scalable and reliable solutions for clients and partners.

Responsibilities

• Billable project work 80% of the time.
  
  
• Work with Nutanix customers to understand business goals and translate them into cloud automation and orchestration solutions.
  
  
• Evangelize Nutanix's vision for a multi-cloud world and deliver hands-on experiences achieving these outcomes for customers.
  
  
• Run customer workshops to develop cloud requirements and document them for customer review and approval.
  
  
• Design service catalogs for Self-Service Provisioning (SSP) leveraging Nutanix Cloud Management to provision and manage applications for private and public cloud endpoints.
  
  
• Design services leveraging cloud-native architectures, microservices (Docker, Kubernetes), and IaaS/PaaS architectures.
  
  
• Develop detailed blueprint specifications for developers to write code and develop automation components; integrate with 3rd party software products via REST APIs (e.g., Infoblox, Active Directory, ServiceNow).
  
  
• Collaborate in a Scrum/Agile team using DevOps tools (e.g., Jira, GitHub, Jenkins) as part of the CD/CI pipeline.
  
  
• Work with software development teams at a hands-on level to design and write code.
  
  
• Develop and test end-to-end blueprint integrations with developer code to deliver outcomes.
  
  
• Participate in limited pre-sales involvement to provide services overlay to the existing sales motion as a SME.
  
  
• Create toolkits and best-practice documents and whitepapers.
  
  

What You Will Bring

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a consultant in storage, virtualization, VDI, or cloud space.
  
  
• Excellent architecture expertise with in-depth understanding of cloud architecture patterns.
  
  
• Ability to whiteboard solutions interactively with customers and develop robust architectural documentation.
  
  
• High comfort level with automation tools or orchestration stacks and frameworks (e.g., Terraform, Lambda, Azure Pack, Azure Stack, OpenStack, VMware vCO, or Microsoft System Center Orchestrator).
  
  
• Experience with developing and managing cloud-computing environments like Amazon EC2, Azure, and/or GCP.
  
  
• Experience developing scalable cloud microservices using container technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and Mesosphere.
  
  
• Ability to develop and debug software scripting and code in languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, Perl, Ruby, Java, or JavaScript.
  
  
• Understanding of configuration management tools (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, SALT Stack).
  
  
• Leverage DevOps tools like GitHub, Jira, Jenkins, Artifactory, Zephyr to deliver automation and promote a DevOps culture.
  
  
• Experience building and running large-scale, distributed, high-availability applications on Windows and Linux.
  
  
• Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
  
  
• Understanding of Virtualization Technologies (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V).
  
  
• Experience in Network Virtualization Technologies (e.g., NSX or ACI).
  
  

Work Arrangement

Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending remote work with in-person collaboration.

Generally, expect to come into an office a minimum of 3 days per week; some teams may require more frequent in-office presence.

Additional team-specific guidance will be provided by your manager.
