Develop rehearsal schedules, scene breakdowns, and call sheets.
Organize and distribute scripts, notes, and updates to cast and crew.
Oversee the setup of rehearsal spaces.
- During rehearsals:
Record blocking, cues, and director's notes.
Manage timekeeping and ensure rehearsals run on schedule.
Maintain communication between departments (lighting, sound, costume, etc.).
Handle any on-site issues or emergencies calmly and efficiently.
- During performances:
Call technical cues (lighting, sound, set changes, etc.) during performances.
Supervise backstage crew, actors, and technical staff.
Ensure the show runs smoothly and consistently every performance.
Manage audience safety and emergency protocols if needed.
- Post-production:
Oversee strike (tear down) and storage of sets, props, and costumes.
Prepare show reports and maintain production records.
Conduct post-show debriefs with the team.
