Therapy Support Associate Role
This critical support position plays a vital part in ensuring seamless service delivery by assisting therapists before, during, and after therapy sessions.
Clinical Duties
- Carry out prescribed therapeutic exercises and activities as instructed by the therapist
- Assist therapists in assessing clients' suitability for therapy sessions or to continue with therapy sessions
- Conduct routine assessments and outcome measures for clients as prescribed by therapists
- Record therapy sessions according to set templates
- Communicate information about therapy sessions to therapists
- Educate clients and caregivers on therapeutic interventions as instructed by therapists
- Manage and conduct independent therapy sessions for straightforward cases after discussion with therapists
- Conduct basic or routine group therapy
- Ensure proper use of equipment, including technological-assisted rehabilitation tools
Administrative and Program-Related Duties
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of therapy areas
- Adhere to infection control procedures and ensure compliance among volunteers
- Assist in setting up and implementing new equipment or projects
- Support the training of therapy assistants and senior therapy assistants
- Participate in case discussions with the clinical team using a multidisciplinary approach
- Engage in continuous professional development
Requirements:
- Degree in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role within the healthcare sector
- Interest in working with stroke survivors
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Patient and empathetic disposition
