The primary objective of the System Architect is to work with the IT APAC Architecture team to provide architecture, design, and technical guidelines to enable the bank’s digital transformation.
Candidates need to have a strong grasp of private banking/wealth management processes.
Key Features of the Position
General
Define IT APAC’s architecture roadmap and landscape in line with the business strategy of the bank
Lead the system architecture areas in the initiatives by providing architecture runways, solution blueprints, architecture NFRs & trade-offs.
Support the architecture governance to manage architecture debts, architecture standards and guidelines.
Manage and drive proof of concepts on new technologies and tools that may be required for supporting the business initiatives.
Client Management (internal & external)
Participate and contribute to IT Architecture strategy of the bank by working together within the architecture COE.
Provide technical guidance to project teams along the entire software development lifecycle
Regulatory Responsibilities & Risk Management
Demonstration of appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Professional and Technical
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
10+ years of experience in designing and implementing enterprise systems, in the banking domain, with a focus on private banking/wealth management.
Strong understanding of CRM/Client Life Cycle Mgmt.
platforms and their integration into enterprise ecosystems.
System Architect
Proficiency in Client & Partner Management, Business Process Management (BPM), Workflow Automation, Account Opening, Periodic Reviews, and KYC processes.
Familiarity with compliance frameworks and regulatory requirements from MAS (Singapore) and HKMA (Hong Kong).
Knowledge of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman.
Proficiency in modern web technologies and enterprise platforms such as Java EE, Spring Boot, and databases like Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
Experience with integration technologies like API, File Transfer, IBM MQ, IBM Integration Bus, and event streaming platforms like Confluent Kafka.
Domain knowledge in Financial / Capital Markets is essential.
Understanding of data policies and standards to align with business and technology goals is a plus.
Experience in implementing cloud-native applications and DevOps principles.
