The Role: Principal Solution Architect
As a Principal Solution Architect (PSA) , you will report directly to the CTO and play a pivotal role in shaping Codex's long-term technology strategy.
You will lead the design of scalable, secure, and cost-efficient architecture standards, while guiding product and delivery teams to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
This is a key leadership role within the Technology Office , requiring deep technical expertise, strong cross-functional collaboration, and a forward-looking approach to engineering innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture Standards & Strategy
- Define and evolve Codex's software architecture standards, frameworks, and best practices.
- Monitor and incorporate emerging technologies to future-proof Codex's architecture approach.
Champion modern methodologies (Agile, DevOps, CI/CD) in shaping architecture and engineering processes.
Engineering & Solution Design
- Lead design of modular, reusable, and scalable components aligned with product and platform goals.
- Provide technical oversight and troubleshooting support to software delivery teams.
Ensure architectural coherence and efficiency across multiple systems and platforms.
Infrastructure & IT Operations
Support CTO in infrastructure planning and IT architecture for development and testing environments.
Evaluate cloud-based infrastructure (public/private) for scalability, cost, and performance optimization.
Innovation & R&D
- Partner with the CTO and CPO to drive R&D initiatives focused on emerging technologies (AI, automation, data platforms, etc.).
Experiment with new tools, frameworks, and architectural patterns to inform product modernization.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Alignment
- Work closely with fellow architects, engineering leads, and product teams to ensure alignment of technical and business objectives.
Engage with customers and partners to ensure architecture strategies align with real-world needs and regulatory requirements.
Security & Compliance
- Incorporate cybersecurity best practices into all architecture and design decisions.
Ensure compliance with public sector standards, regulatory requirements, and risk mitigation policies.
Competency & Capability Development
- Define the technical competency roadmap in collaboration with the CTO.
Mentor engineering teams and contribute to the growth of architectural maturity across Codex.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience architecting secure, scalable, mission-critical systems in complex environments.
- Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or private cloud) and hybrid cloud architectures.
- Strong understanding of modern engineering practices: Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, IaC, and automation.
- Familiarity with public sector IT standards and government technology ecosystems (e.g., Singpass, Corppass).
- Solid grounding in enterprise architecture principles and blueprint development methodologies.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and threat mitigation techniques.
- Excellent strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and technical communication skills.
