What this job involves
In a Nutshell: Your chief concern is to ensure a safe, compliant and more conducive work environment for JLL teams on the ground, the client and the vendors and contractors under JLL’s purview.
You will work as JLL Engineering’s second line of defence through a process of audit, training and enablement.
You will stay up to date with key internal and external requirements as they pertain to HSSE and Engineering, including but not limited to ISO 45001, 14001, 55001, 41001, country regulations and JLL minimum standard requirements for HSSE and Engineering.
You will advise key account leaders and Engineering and HSSE leaders at each site/account on risk levels and help form/update a risk register as part of technical diligence representing corporate headquarters.
This role drives technical excellence and innovation using JLL’s assurance programs to assess risk management and quality improvement opportunities in engineering service delivery.
You should be comfortable with a matrix reporting structure, able to influence others and drive action with multiple stakeholders in a dynamic, results-oriented environment.
Travel is expected in line with regional needs.
Leadership and collaboration
You represent the organization ethically and professionally, engage in candid discussions with senior leaders and ground staff, and adapt to evolving requirements to translate industry standards into site-level practices.
You will help teams develop site- and client-specific plans that progress at the required pace and you will be supported by communities of expertise across HSSE and Engineering.
You will function as a subject matter expert with strong technical and program management capabilities, able to advise senior management on mechanical, civil, electrical diagrams, engineering operations and maintenance procedures, safe systems of work, and site risk assessment.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels are essential.

As a seasoned manager, you will communicate effectively across stakeholders, ensuring alignment and minimizing communication gaps.
This regional role requires on-site travel as needed based on risk profiles.
Responsibilities
Provide an annual top 20 high-risk sites list for in-person validation and risk reduction.
Contribute inputs to the ERM risk strategy for the region, including executive summaries, data analysis, and presentations to country and regional leadership to shape country risk profiles.
Support the overall quality-driven ERM strategy to mitigate risk.
Develop HSSE and Engineering strategies and policies (as needed) to drive risk reduction.
Align with senior leaders on risk categorization and profiling; escalate and rectify key legal risks to senior leadership.
Drive awareness and adoption through the Operations Council under the regional GHO direction.
Monitor trends and legal changes to ensure JLL provides industry best practices in Engineering and HSSE service delivery.
Be well versed in JLL’s globally aligned audit program and act as an ambassador/validator for HSSE and Engineering.
Perform on-site audits in accordance with JLL minimum standards and local legislation, focusing on the stricter requirements.
Train and validate new auditors to ensure consistency in audit standards and risk profiles.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver risk reduction initiatives and conduct regular performance evaluations, identify skills gaps, and provide mentoring and training.
Perform ad hoc engineering activities to support business operations and foster a culture of teamwork and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering (preferred) or related field.
Relevant certifications in Occupational Health and Safety.
Extensive experience (12+ years) in engineering or HSSE roles with leadership experience in fast-paced environments.
Strong knowledge of problem-solving principles, practices, and methodologies.
Experience in a managerial or leadership role with the ability to lead and motivate a high-performing engineering team.
Solid understanding of project management processes and practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to convey complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proven ability to drive innovation, process improvement, and change management initiatives; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices; professional certifications such as PE or SCEM are highly desired.
Design thinking or Lean Six Sigma is highly preferred.
Outstanding team collaboration skills and the ability to set a team up for success.
