Location: Tuas South
Responsibilities
To monitor surface preparation/coating application on site ensuring that the applicators conform to the agreed specifications.
To carry out inspections on vessels to assist master/superintendent solves painting issues like onboard maintenance/paint schemes.
To carry out surface preparation inspection, monitoring of environmental condition, checks on proper paint mixing/applications, measurement of wet and dry film thickness and other quality control requirements.
To liaise with the various departments within the company to ensure on time paint deliveries/returns/orders for projects and drydock vessels.
To collect information on competitors' product information/activities/market share as well as other information required from time to time.
To submit full coating inspection reports complete with relevant captioned photographs.
Trouble shooting at sites.
Carry out Interplan and submit relevant reports.
Assist Superintendents and facilities engineers in specifications recommendation, paint estimates and other services which may be required by clients from time to time.
Project stock control/management at sites.
Requirements
Diploma in chemical engineering or equivalent, with a minimum of 2 years experience in coatings industry
NACE/FROSIO/SSPC certification is a plus
Good command in English both writing and speaking
Computer literate
Preferably with experience working in the Marine, Oil & Gas industry
5.5 workdays and willing to work on irregular hours includes Sunday/public holidays (when required)
