The Engineer shall be rotated to the following areas:
Media Contribution Delivery (MCD) to support the design, installation and maintenance of allocated parts of the organisation's linear and non-linear media equipment and infrastructure
BE IP to support the design, installation and maintenance of allocated parts of the organisation's IP media equipment and infrastructure
The Engineer is expected:
Media Contribution & Delivery (MCD):
- To assist in delivering Contribution and Distribution infrastructure projects, including maintenance, on Satellite uplink/downlink equipment and infrastructure as per technical instructions, standard procedures and learning on-the-job in a project environment
- To perform allocated tasks in the areas of satellite and Contribution & Distribution operations e.g. to monitor the performance of satellite uplink/downlink & contribution/distribution systems and processes and communicates any issues for troubleshooting
- To maintain satellite & contribution/distribution service logs for compliance purposes.
The work involves the constant monitoring of systems over long shifts and periods - To report any anomalies or system faults immediately once detected
BE IP:
- To provide technical services to support the design, implementation, and ongoing support of IP-based media solutions within the broadcast infrastructure
- Ensure successful integration, maintenance & support of IP technologies for the production, management, and distribution of media content in the broadcast environment
- May require to perform shift duty, work late nights and to provide standby to support during key events
Qualifications
- Polytechnic Diploma or University Degree in Technical discipline
- Possess IT networking skill and Satellite Communication knowledge will have priority
- Proficient in MS Office
- Proficient in written and communication skills
- High concentration level as well as an eye for detail to spot problems and issues
- A team player who is able to work independently and is prepared to perform shift duties
