Technical Trainee (TV Studios & Outdoor Broadcast Support)
Responsibilities
Purpose:
The Engineer shall be rotated to provide technical support and work in the 2 units in Production Support:
i.
TV Studios Support
ii.
Outdoor Broadcast Support
The Scope:
The Engineer is expected:
i.
TV Studios Support
Support the design, installation, and maintenance of broadcast enterprise systems for studio production and the Parliament House broadcast system.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of broadcast-related equipment and infrastructure, following technical instructions and standard procedures, while learning on the job to maintain reliable operations for live broadcasts and productions in TV Studios and Parliament House.
Assist in the setup and provision of technical support for production facilities during major event coverage and live broadcast operations.
Support the management and enforcement of cybersecurity measures across broadcast systems to ensure secure and resilient operations.
ii.
Outdoor Broadcast Support
Support the design, installation, and maintenance of broadcast enterprise systems for Location Units and Outdoor Broadcast (OB) Systems, including OB Vans.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of broadcast-related equipment and infrastructure, adhering to technical instructions and standard operating procedures, while developing technical expertise through on-the-job learning in maintaining Location Units and OB systems for live broadcasts and productions.
Assist in the setup and technical support of production facilities for major event coverage and remote broadcast operations.
Support the implementation and enforcement of cybersecurity measures to safeguard broadcast systems and ensure secure, resilient field operations.
Qualifications
Requirements:
Diploma/Degree in Electronic & Electrical Engineering or Information Engineering & Media or Computer Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution.
Hands-on Engineer with interest in broadcast engineering
Knowledge in IT and computer network
Proficient in written and communication skills
A team player who is able to work independently and is prepared to perform shift duties
