Job Summary
The Tool Engineer will be responsible for providing technical tooling support to the Tooling & Development (T&D) team and production line.
The role involves supporting tool design, liaising with sales and design teams to meet customer requirements, and driving improvements to tooling for higher output and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day technical tooling support to the T&D department and production line.
- Work closely with the Design department to implement tool improvements that enhance output, quality, and efficiency.
- Support tool design and development activities to meet customer requirements and specifications.
- Collaborate with the Sales team to provide technical input for customer discussions and proposals.
- Assist in troubleshooting tooling issues on the production line to ensure minimal downtime.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring tools are optimized for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Train, guide and counsel toolmakers.
- Prepare technical documentation and reports related to tooling support, modifications, and improvements.
Requirements
- Diploma in Precision Engineering or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of Tool & Die making
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and quality standards.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across departments.
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and a drive for continuous improvement.
