Key Responsibilities:
Tool Fabrication & Assembly
Manufacture and assemble complex 3D stamping tools using precision machining and hand-fitting techniques.
- Ensure dies meet design and functional requirements (e.g., part form accuracy, surface finish, and dimensional tolerances).
Tool Maintenance
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on 3D stamping dies.
- Troubleshoot and repair worn or damaged tools to restore optimal function.
Tool Design Collaboration
Work closely with the Tool & Die Design and Production Engineering teams during the tool development process.
- Provide feedback to improve tool design for manufacturability and maintainability.
Trial & Tuning
Conduct tool try-outs and tuning to achieve first-pass yield and part quality.
- Optimize press parameters for new and existing tools.
Quality & Documentation
Verify tools against technical drawings, 3D models, and part inspection results.
- Maintain detailed tool history and maintenance records.
- Support Continuous Improvement
6.1 Identify and propose improvements in tooling performance, process stability, and cycle time.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Technical Certificate or Diploma in Tool & Die Making, Precision Engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience in progressive stamping tools
- 5+ years of experience in tool making with a focus on progressive, compound, and 3D stamping tools.
- Ability to read and interpret 3D CAD drawings and 2D tool design prints.
- Experience with tight tolerance parts and forming on challenging materials (e.g., stainless steel, copper alloys).
