OverviewThe Trade Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that import/export activity is in compliance with trade regulations and sanctions, including those of Malaysia, the United States and other countries or regions as applicable.
Responsibilities Ensure that transfers of hardware, software and technology comply with Malaysian and U.S. export laws, regulations and sanctions as well as other countries or regions as applicable.Exercise oversight of denied party screening, licensing/license exception use, recordkeeping requirements, etc.
Obtain and accurately apply export classifications and tariff codes.Ensure export permits, licenses and U.S. reexport licenses are obtained as needed.Review orders/export documentation for compliance.Conduct periodic assessments of export and compliance activity.Provide training to local personnel in relevant functions.Maintain technology control plan (TCP) and ensure site is in alignment with all requirements.Work together with regional EMEA and global Trade Compliance team on various compliance projects and activities.Report potential non-compliance to Trade Compliance senior management and aid in compliance investigations.Provide support to users of Visitor Management System (VMS) as needed.Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business. Qualifications Minimum five years of experience with Import-Export compliance program.Familiarity with OCR or similar denied party screening tool, D and Agile a plus.Excellent verbal and written English communication.Experience on global team.Basic knowledge of U.S. and U.K./EU export regulations strongly preferred.Experience interfacing with Government Authorities (Customs, MITI, etc.) preferred.Highly organized and adaptable to a dynamic work environment.
