Job description

What the role is:
The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service ( ) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

MOH - Traditional & Complementary Medicine (TCM) Branch offers an excellent learning opportunity for the trainee to become familiar with both policy work and the Whole-of-Government grants management framework, including risk assessment processes.

For those interested in developing careers as clinical Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners (TCMPs), through stakeholder engagements, this role provides valuable insight into the sector's landscape, challenges, and opportunities for future career development.


What you will be working on:
The trainee will assist the TCM Branch team with stakeholders’ engagement and oversight of grant management and administration for the TCM Research Grant and TCM Development Grant.

Thinking Clearly & Making Sound Judgements – Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to support the crafting of sound policy recommendations; ability to grasp timelines, operating context and ground realities.

Improving & Innovating – Ability to seek continual improvements, and to innovate and experiment while managing the risks involved.


Working Effectively with Stakeholders – Ability to mobilise and rally partners and stakeholders towards a collective purpose.


Degree in health sciences-related disciplines and/or Traditional Chinese Medicine will be advantageous.


As there are a lot of TCM practitioners who only speak in Mandarin, the trainee is expected to be bilingual in English and Chinese for both written and spoken communication.
