Translator & Executive Communications Support



Job description

We are seeking a highly proficient bilingual professional (Mandarin & English) to support our Vice President in daily communications, business interactions, and executive correspondence.

This role goes beyond translation — the ideal candidate will serve as a trusted communications partner, helping to draft and refine business documents, prepare presentations, support meetings, and actively assist the Vice President in improving his English usage for both conversational and business purposes.

Key Responsibilities

Translation & Drafting

  • Translate emails, reports, and presentations between Mandarin and English with accuracy, clarity, and business professionalism.

  • Draft and refine English correspondence, ensuring grammar, tone, and vocabulary are aligned with corporate standards.

  • Support the preparation of speeches, meeting notes, and presentations for English-speaking stakeholders.

Executive Support in Meetings & Presentations

  • Assist the VP during internal and external meetings by providing real-time translation and communication support where required.

  • Prepare briefing notes, talking points, and follow-up summaries in English.

  • Anticipate communication challenges and proactively suggest phrasing or approaches.

Language Coaching & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide on-the-job English language support by correcting grammar and vocabulary in real time.

  • Conduct short, focused coaching sessions to reinforce business English skills relevant to the VP's role (e.g., negotiation language, presentation delivery, email etiquette).

  • Develop personalized resources (phrases, templates, vocabulary lists) to accelerate language fluency.

Administrative & Coordination Support

  • Manage and prioritize correspondence, ensuring timely responses in English.

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth communication.

  • Support ad-hoc administrative tasks related to meetings, business travel, and documentation.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, Business, Communications, or related field.

  • Native or near-native fluency in Mandarin and English (written & spoken).

  • Strong experience in business translation, executive communications, or similar roles.

  • Excellent command of business English writing and presentation skills.

  • Ability to coach and correct English usage tactfully and constructively.

  • Prior experience working with senior executives or in multinational environments preferred.

  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and cultural sensitivity.
