Job Responsibilities
Instruct airline crew converting to Airbus on all operational and technical aspects for a specific type (or types) using Flight Training Devices, Fixed Base Simulators, Full Flight Simulators, Aircrafts, Lecture rooms, in order to ensure their capability to carry out safely and correctly all normal and emergency procedures required by Airworthiness authorities.
Conduct theoretical training for type-rating courses, flight operations courses and aircraft performance
Adhere to Airbus standard policy and standardisation as required by Flight Development and Flight Standardization & Policy.
Instruct and/or check the crews within the defined time limits.
Evaluates the crews’ progression.
Decides, if required, on the necessity to accord extra training to achieve the required level of proficiency and competence as defined in the training objectives.
Conduct Base Trainings for airline crew on applicable Airbus aircrafts.
Conduct Line Trainings (Initial Operating Experiences (IOE)) for airline crew on applicable Airbus aircrafts.
Conduct aircraft type rating skills test, license proficiency checks or operator proficiency checks on applicable Airbus aircrafts type
Participate in review or development of training programme as assigned by HOT.
Conduct assessments of instructors.
Conduct standardization duties if appointed as Airbus Standardizer.
Maintain a high level of airmanship to teach in a multicultural environment.
Assist with flight training audits and Flight Simulator Training Device (FSTD) fly-outs and qualifications.
Any other duties as assigned by Head of Training.
Job Requirements
Hold an EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency) ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot Licence) License
Hold an EASA Medical Class 1 certificate
Hold a valid EASA Type Rating on the relevant Airbus aircraft type
Hold a valid EASA Instructor certificate on the relevant Airbus aircraft type unrestricted (LIFUS or Landing Training)
Hold a valid EASA Examiner certificate on the relevant Airbus aircraft type is a plus
Hold or have held a Low Visibility Operations qualification (at least one auto land in Airbus Fly-by-wire (FBW) aircraft as Captain)
Hold or have held an ETOPS (Extended-range Twin-engine Operations Performance Standards) approval qualification
With minimum 8000 hours as Pilot
With minimum 5000 hours on jet large aircraft
With minimum 2500 hours as Captain on Airbus aircraft
With minimum 1500 hours on Airbus FBW aircraft type(s)
With minimum 500 hours as Captain or instructor assigned to conduct LIFUS (Line Flying Under Supervision) / IOE
Evidence base training / Competences Base Training Assessment expertise is a plus
Preference will be given to candidates who have completed the Airbus Pilot Instructor Course (APIC)
Fluent in English, minimum English Language Proficiency Rating of 5 in order to communicate with all trainees
