Key Responsibilities
Department: Infrastructure Operations – Banking Technology
Scripting & Automation
Develop, test, and maintain Shell Scripts to automate system processes, batch jobs, and deployments.
- Enhance legacy scripts for reliability, error handling, and performance improvements.
- Automate log rotations, data archiving, and routine infrastructure operations.
- Integrate shell automation with monitoring and orchestration tools used in the bank.
Infrastructure Operations (BAU Support)
Monitor and maintain scheduled jobs (cron, Control-M, Autosys) for critical banking systems.
- Support daily operations including log management, file transfers, and system housekeeping.
- Perform incident triage and root cause analysis for job or script failures.
- Maintain high operational uptime for banking applications and supporting services.
Deployment & Change Support
Support automated deployments and configuration updates for infrastructure components.
- Coordinate with application and DevOps teams to streamline CI/CD processes.
- Ensure all deployments adhere to change management and audit requirements.
Monitoring & Compliance
Develop automated health checks for critical services (CPU, memory, storage, process monitoring).
- Implement alerting mechanisms and daily reports for system status.
- Ensure compliance with bank IT policies, security standards, and audit practices.
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
Work closely with cross-functional teams (Network, Database, Security) to identify automation opportunities.
- Document scripts, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and technical runbooks.
- Provide knowledge transfer and mentoring to junior team members.
Required Skills and Experience
4–8 years of experience in Unix/Linux environments within a banking or financial institution.
Strong expertise in Shell scripting (Bash, Korn, or Z Shell).
Hands-on experience with Control-M, Autosys, or other enterprise job schedulers.
Proficiency in Unix commands and text-processing tools (awk, sed, grep, find).
Familiarity with ITIL processes, incident/change management, and service delivery models.
Knowledge of secure file transfer (SFTP, SCP) and encryption practices.
Exposure to Python or Ansible automation preferred.
- Experience with Git, Jenkins, or other CI/CD tools beneficial.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Linux/Unix certification (e.g., RHCE, CompTIA Linux+) preferred.
Banking domain or infrastructure operations experience highly desirable.
