[What the role is]

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service () aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.



User Experience Centre (UXC) is a dynamic, multidisciplinary-teamed consultancy centre within Singapore Polytechnic (SP) dedicated to driving innovation through Humanity-Centered design and diverse collaboration opportunities for industry partners through consultancy projects and training programmes.

Reporting to the Deputy Manager or other senior designations, the appointee will be part of the team from Singapore Polytechnic’s User Experience Centre.

The appointee will be responsible for day-to-day tasks, including conducting user research, applying design thinking principles, creating visual designs, and developing prototypes.

This role involves close collaboration with other team members to ensure that designs meet user needs and align with the overall project goals.

He/she will take on multiple projects, monitor them and meet deadlines.

[What you will be working on]

  • [For User Experience Researcher] Plan and schedule interviews, focus group discussions for the purpose of gathering data insights of a particular project challenge area.

    For example, a particular population’s perspective on community healthcare.
  • [For User Experience Researcher] Distil patterns of insights including clustering and affinity mapping to populate categories of insights.
  • [For User Experience Designer] Create, ideate, and develop contents that addresses project challenges in consultancy and project work.
  • Collaborate with local and regional partners—particularly in ASEAN—on consultancy, project work, business development, internationalization efforts, and delivery of training workshops, short courses, and programmes across pre-employment and continuing education contexts.
  • Develop and deliver content on Design Thinking and Humanity-Centered Design for training, consultancy, and micro-learning modules; support workshop setup and handle related administrative tasks such as interview scheduling, minutes-taking, and document archival. 

[What we are looking for]

  • Ability to facilitate and/or lead training workshops with industry partners and stakeholders.
  • Possesses strong communication and collaboration abilities and able to work independently and within a team.
  • Ability to connect dots and sense make from data points and insights.
  • Possesses strong digital literacy in Adobe Creative Suite and UX design tools such as MIRO, Figma, and Adobe XD, with demonstrated skills in Design Thinking, User Research, UX and Prototyping, and Visual Design; Spatial Design experience is a valuable bonus.
  • A portfolio showcasing relevant design work from internship, gig work, freelance would be advantageous.
