[What the role is]
As a Data and AI Engineering Trainee in the Unmanned Systems Technology, Engineering and Planning (UTEP) Division, you will be at the forefront of driving impactful Artificial Intelligence (AI) projects and pioneering new AI solutions.
From concept to prototyping to deployment, you will collaborate across teams to ensure successful implementation.
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative AI solutions and services that can enhance CAAS’ capabilities, improve processes, and support the growth of the local Unmanned Aircraft (UA) ecosystem.
[What you will be working on]
- Streamline existing workflows and processes: Enhance efficiency and productivity by automating repetitive tasks and optimizing existing processes.
- Tackle operational challenges: Address complex problems such as simulating airport environments to optimize system deployment strategies.
You could be developing a digital twin of an airport to test and refine various operational scenarios before implementation. - Data mining and visualization: Extract and analyse data to inform UA sector development strategies.
You could be working on visualizing data trends to help stakeholders make informed decisions about future investments and growth areas in the UA industry. - Produce innovative solutions and services: Develop cutting-edge solutions that can enhance CAAS’ capabilities, improve processes, and support the grown of the local UA ecosystem.
This might involve creating AI-driven tools that can help the UA industry better understand the UA regulatory requirements and support them in their UA operation application processes.

Ideal candidates will have:
- Training or certification in relevant areas such as engineering, data science, AI, computer science, or engineering will be advantageous.

- Skills in workflow optimization and operational challenge resolution, demonstrated through prior internships or projects.
- Proficiency in data mining and visualization techniques, with examples of how these skills have been applied in real-world scenarios.
- Creativity and a problem-solving mindset.
