Vice President, Digital Platforms and Partnerships SEA

About the Role

This role reports to the SVP, Customer Solutions Center for SEA and is part of a new Customer Solution Center (CSC) structure within Mastercard.

It focuses on developing strategic partnerships across SEA with a broad set of digital players, including shared economy/ platform aggregators, e‑commerce players, neo and digital banks, FinTechs, and other emerging internet economy participants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grow Mastercard relative market share in the digital payments across all channels using our omnidirectional multi rails.

  • Support the regional Digital and emerging partnerships team in developing the strategy for the partnerships with digital merchants and carry the responsibility of its execution in the SEA markets.

  • Continuous evaluation of the market landscape to identify strategic partnership opportunities in the region in consultation with the country leadership.

  • Deepen the existing partnership with some of the global and regional market leaders of the internet economy by supporting them in their growth, leveraging the Mastercard capabilities in product and services.

  • Provide leadership to the account management team in servicing the existing customer’s strategic priorities and liaise with Mastercard product and delivery organizations to provide bespoke solutions and services to our marquee clients.

    This entails strong understanding of
  • Maintain our leadership position in the neobanks/ digibanks in the region.

  • Drive the digital acceptance footprint of Mastercard both offline and online and works closely with wallets to collaborate in joining our global network.

  • Grow our relative market share in all the markets especially with the digital merchants and FinTechs and bring the FinTechs and new age payment solutions providers onto our multi rail which enables omnidirectional payments flows via Scheme, Real time payments, QR, Digital wallets et al.

  • Set sales strategy and account planning aligned with geography and segments to support our leadership position with the digital partners in the SEA region.

    It entails extensive business development with the existing partners and also identifying early on the emerging winners in the market.

  • Develop and present financial modeling and business cases for development opportunities.

  • Negotiate, execute and manage the customer contract agreement process.

  • Evaluate and enhance the deal process to deliver efficiencies and improved success rates.

  • Establish, enhance and maintain relationships with government, regulatory, and industry bodies.

  • Formally supervise and coach several groups/teams, or other Leaders/ Consultants and influence how the function is structured.

  • Ensure the function’s compliance to goal setting and performance appraisal process.

  • Help identify, coach and groom top talent and proactively develop employees as organizational resources.

All About You

  • Work experience of over 12-15 years with the last five years managing multi geography cross functional teams.

  • Experience in and sound understanding of the digital payment landscape; shared economy and e‑commerce ecosystem would be an added advantage.

  • Prior experience in the payments, schemes and/or technology companies is desirable.

  • Extensive experience with business development strategy and execution in complex and international countries/regions.

  • Extensive track record achieving business development targets and building business relationships through customer sales.

  • Experience supervising, developing and coaching business development teams to serve complex countries/regions.

  • Demonstrated success in introducing existing and new/emerging solutions into various MasterCard countries/regions and driving increased penetration with clients.

Corporate Security Responsibility

  • Abide by Mastercard’s security policies and practices;
  • Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed;
  • Report any suspected information security violation or breach, and
  • Complete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard’s guidelines.
