Summary
The Vice President, Head of IT and Security, is a Group leadership role accountable for shaping and delivering Ensign’s enterprise technology and security agenda.
As the combined IT and Security leader, this role is responsible for IT infrastructure, enterprise systems, digital transformation, and information security governance.
This position plays a pivotal role in strengthening operational resilience, safeguarding Ensign’s information assets, and ensuring IT and security capabilities scale with business growth.
The VP partners closely with the Executive Leadership Team to align technology and cyber security strategies with business objectives, client trust, and regulatory expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute group-wide IT and security strategies aligned with Ensign’s growth objectives.
- Lead digital transformation initiatives to enhance agility, scalability, and efficiency.
- Advise senior leadership on technology and security trends, risks, and opportunities to reinforce operational resilience and competitiveness.
- IT Infrastructure & Operations
- Oversee all IT operations including infrastructure, applications, cloud, networks, and workplace technologies.
- Ensure high standards of IT service delivery focused on stability, scalability, cost efficiency, and user experience.
- Drive continuous improvement and modernization of IT platforms and operating models.
- Security Governance & Risk Alignment
- Act as Ensign’s Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), accountable for enterprise-wide information security.
- Lead the design and enforcement of security policies, standards, and risk controls across technology and business operations.
- Ensure effective security monitoring, incident response, and resilience planning.
- Provide assurance to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team on security posture and technology risk.
- Establish and maintain governance frameworks for IT risk, cyber risk, business continuity, and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee enterprise risk assessments and ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory obligations.
- Culture and Leadership
- Champion a culture of innovation, security awareness, and operational excellence across Ensign.
- Build, inspire, and develop a high-performing IT and Security leadership team.
- Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, ensuring IT and Security deliver measurable value.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related discipline.
Master’s degree preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive IT and security leadership experience, ideally across group or regional scope in complex, regulated industries.
- Proven track record in leading large-scale IT and security transformation and modernization programs.
- Deep knowledge of enterprise architecture, IT service management, cloud adoption, and digital workplace strategies.
- Strong expertise in information security frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, NIST, CIS) and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage cyber risk, security operations, and incident response at scale.
- Strong leadership, influencing, and communication skills with executive stakeholders.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
