Overview
The VP Engineering leads Pelagus 3D’s global engineering organization, covering design engineering, quality engineering, and manufacturing operations.
The role ensures Pelagus delivers technically robust, scalable, and cost-efficient solutions that support the company’s commercial strategy and growth.
The VP Engineering is a member of the management team and contributes to company-wide decision-making.
Core Responsibilities
Engineering Strategy & Leadership
Shape and execute the engineering roadmap in alignment with company objectives.
Build and scale an engineering organization that combines innovation, quality, and operational excellence.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Design Engineering
Oversee the digitalization and qualification of spare parts into the Pelagus platform.
Ensure robust design standards across AM, casting, and CNC methodologies.
Drive engineering best practices, processes, and tool adoption to enable scalability.
Quality Engineering
Establish and enforce global quality standards across all manufacturing partners.
Lead qualification frameworks, certifications, and compliance programs.
Monitor and improve product performance, reliability, and traceability.
Manufacturing Operations
Manage Pelagus’s global network of qualified production partners, ensuring delivery on time, at cost, and to quality standards.
Optimize supplier qualification, capacity planning, and OTIF performance.
Build capabilities to support rapid scaling across multiple geographies.
Technology & Platform Alignment
Work with the CTO and platform teams to integrate engineering workflows seamlessly into the Pelagus platform.
Ensure engineering processes are digital-first, secure, and scalable.
Support technical audits, platform enhancements, and digital qualification initiatives.
Stakeholder Engagement
Support commercial and executive teams in strategic customer and shareholder discussions.
Collaborate closely with the COO to ensure engineering and operations deliver to commercial and contractual commitments.
Reporting & Interfaces
Reports to the COO.
Member of the management team, contributing to strategic and operational decisions.
Directly leads managers across Design Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Manufacturing Operations.
Works cross-functionally with CTO (platform), CCO (commercial), and CEO.
