Job Responsibilities
Technical Expertise
Lead on-going projects which involve a variety of banking systems located in Tokyo to enhance the experience of collaboration, performance, security, and service level.
Plan and lead IT system implementation projects which involve a variety of IT and non-IT departments located in Tokyo and Singapore to enhance the banking IT capability from a regional perspective.
Provide expertise to regional teams and foster collaboration with stakeholders in the Japan Head Office.
Risk and Control
Provide timely escalation and resolution of major issues to Management and Head Office.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement
Act as a liaison between end users and the IT team in the local market and Japan Head Office to understand business requirements for Forex systems, including designing and implementing new solutions or enhancements.
Partner with the IT Planning department to ensure alignment of all company platform’s architecture processes, standards, strategies, and roadmap with that of JRI and or SMBC Group.
Collaborate with the Japan Head Office to establish internal control in which an entity is managed and governed.
Project & Other Responsibilities
Prepare and present regular project reports and documentation.
Prepare and put forward budget plans for identified project initiatives, influencing, and negotiating with the Head Office to obtain support for them.
Ensure project status and progress are communicated to stakeholders and IT teams in a timely and concise manner.
Work out full-scaled and precise proposals with the technical solution team, coordinate and communicate resources, and define clear roles with all project resources.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent, with a minimum of 10 years of experience providing IT Services in a financial institution.
Knowledge of cash management services and remittance services of banks.
Experience in IT system development project management and delivery services in large organizations.
Proven experience in collaboration and workgroups for project delivery.
Knowledge of IT service businesses for banks or financial institutions.
Capability to lead and drive IT BAU-related tasks with good time and stakeholder management skills and experience.
Proactively socialize with stakeholders and maintain good relationships to steer tasks.
Possess strong and assertive verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities.
Good bi-directional and collaborative attitude in order to work as a professional in a team.
Experience in internal control or audit areas with a deep understanding of the IT business process and systems.
Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or equivalent experiences.
Comprehensive knowledge of the system development lifecycle.
Proficiency in Japanese is highly preferred as this role needs to prepare reports in Japanese for reporting to the Head Office in Japan.
This role also needs to present and communicate with senior stakeholders who mainly communicate in Japanese.
Experience handling regional projects which involve stakeholders in Japan.
