Role overview
Our client is looking for an engineer to design, build and support vision-based solutions across new projects and legacy systems.
You'll own the full lifecycle: from gathering requirements and evaluating samples, to hardware validation, algorithm development, software delivery and customer handover.
Key responsibilities
- Translate customer needs into technical specifications and solution designs.
- Assess samples and run hardware tests to validate imaging and sensor setups.
- Create and refine image-processing and inspection algorithms.
- Implement, test and integrate vision software into target machines and systems.
- Produce clear technical documentation and deliver customer training and onsite support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable deployment and ongoing system performance.
Required qualifications & experience
- Diploma or degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 3 years' practical experience building vision applications, including choosing hardware and implementing software solutions .
- Hands-on experience deploying vision inspection systems — familiarity with AI/deep-learning vision toolsets (e.g., VPDL, VisionTrain or similar) is a strong plus.
- Proficient in C# development using Microsoft Visual Studio.
- Experience developing PC-based control or automation software for machinery or production equipment is advantageous.
- Self-motivated, quick to pick up new tools and techniques, and able to operate autonomously.
- Good communicator with strong interpersonal and customer-facing skills.
- Able to travel on short notice to provide customer engineering support when required.
