The ISEAS - Yusof Ishak Institute is a leading research centre dedicated to the study of socio-political, security and economic trends and developments in Southeast Asia and its wider geostrategic and economic development.

Visiting Fellow (Energy/Climate) (2-Year Contract)
(What you will be working on)
The Visiting Fellow will undertake research on Southeast Asia's energy transitions within the broader framework of a green recovery, focusing on the nexus between energy and climate and the advancement of regional energy cooperation.
The position will entail analysing the political, economic, social, technological, and/or policy dimensions of planned energy transitions in the region.
Country‑specific expertise within Southeast Asia will be considered an asset.
Secondary areas of research may include, but are not limited to, climate governance — including carbon markets and sustainable finance — low‑carbon technologies, and energy geopolitics.

Requirements:
Applications should include a cover letter, a full CV, two referee contacts, a strong research proposal on energy transitions in Southeast Asia of not more than five pages (double spaced) and a writing sample of a commentary nature.
The proposal should discuss the topic to be examined, plans for any fieldwork and duration, projected timeline of research, and output.
Remuneration and benefits will de pend on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
